“How much will Bali cost us?”
It’s usually the second question we hear, right after “Is Bali good for a honeymoon?” or “Can we take the kids?” And it’s a fair one. Bali can be a surprisingly affordable holiday or a very expensive one, depending on a few choices you make early on.
So here’s an honest breakdown of the Bali trip cost from India in 2026, whether you’re planning a honeymoon for two or a holiday for the whole family.
Bali Trip Cost from India: The Quick Picture

For a 5 to 7 day trip, this is roughly what Indian travellers spend in total:
- Couple: about ₹1.2 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh
- Family of four: about ₹2.2 lakh to ₹3.5 lakh
Three things swing the number the most: your flights, the kind of stay you pick, and the month you travel. Let’s go through each one.
Flights: Easier Than Ever
Bali used to mean a stopover in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Not anymore. Direct flights now run from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru on Air India and IndiGo, and the journey takes roughly 7 to 8½ hours.
Return fares usually fall between ₹22,000 and ₹45,000 per person, depending on your city, airline and how early you book. A direct economy ticket from Delhi typically costs ₹36,000 to ₹48,000.
Our tip: book around 40 days ahead. That’s usually when fares are at their lowest.
Visa, Tourist Levy and Arrival Card
Keep about ₹3,600 to ₹3,750 per person aside for entry. It’s made up of three parts:
- Visa on Arrival or e-VOA: IDR 500,000 per person. It’s valid for 30 days and can be extended once.
- Bali Tourist Levy: IDR 150,000 per person, paid separately. Children pay it too.
- All Indonesia Arrival Card: free, but you must fill it in online within 72 hours before you land.
A quick heads-up: in August 2026, Indonesian immigration proposed raising the visa fee, but no start date has been announced yet. Our Bali visa guide for Indians covers every step, and we’ll keep it updated.
Where You Stay Decides Your Budget
This is where Bali gives you real choice. Rough prices per night:
- Budget hotels: ₹1,500 to ₹2,500
- 4-star resorts: ₹6,000 to ₹10,000
- Private pool villas: ₹12,000 to ₹20,000
Many of our travellers mix and match: a few nights in a good resort, then two nights in a pool villa as the highlight. You get the villa experience without paying villa prices for the whole trip. Our guide on where to stay in Bali compares Ubud, Seminyak, Uluwatu and more.
Bali Trip Cost for a Couple
For couples, the stay and the experiences make the biggest difference. A simple hotel with shared tours keeps you near the lower end of the range. A private pool villa, a candlelight dinner and a private day trip to Nusa Penida will push you towards the top.
Neither is wrong. It just depends on what matters most to you. If you’re planning a honeymoon, our 6-night Bali itinerary for couples shows how to fit it all in.
Bali Trip Cost for a Family
With a family, costs multiply in less obvious ways. Flights are four tickets, not two, and the tourist levy applies to every child as well.
Rooms matter too. A family room or a two-bedroom villa often works out cheaper than booking two separate hotel rooms. And a private driver for the day is usually worth it with kids. You travel at your own pace, with snacks, naps and no waiting around.
Easy Ways to Bring the Cost Down
- Watch your travel month. April is often the cheapest month to fly.
- Book flights early, ideally around six weeks before you travel.
- Split your stay between a resort and a villa instead of a villa for the whole trip.
- Pay the tourist levy online before you fly, so there’s one less queue at the airport.
