Rice terraces in the morning mist. A private pool all to yourselves. Sunset on a cliff above the ocean, with fire dancers lighting up the evening.
That’s Bali for couples, and seven days is just the right amount of time to enjoy it without rushing. Whether it’s your honeymoon or an anniversary trip, here’s the 6 nights 7 days Bali itinerary we recommend most often to Indian couples.
The Smart Split: 3 Nights Ubud + 3 Nights by the Beach
Bali’s traffic is slow, so changing hotels every night wastes precious holiday time. Instead, we suggest two bases:
- Ubud (3 nights): jungle, rice fields, culture and romantic pool villas
- Seminyak or Uluwatu (3 nights): beaches, sunsets, beach clubs and cliff-top dinners
Not sure which beach area suits you? Our guide on where to stay in Bali compares Seminyak, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua and more.

Day 1: Arrive and Head to Ubud
Land at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport and drive up to Ubud. Allow plenty of time, because Bali traffic can be slow. Check into your villa, have a relaxed dinner and rest after the flight.
Day 2: Ubud Highlights
Start early at the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, before the crowds and the heat. Later, visit the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary (keep your sunglasses and snacks safely packed!), browse the Ubud Art Market, and end the day with a traditional Balinese dance at Ubud Palace.
Day 3: Waterfalls, Swings and Spa Time
Take it slow today. Visit a waterfall such as Tegenungan, try a famous Bali jungle swing for photos, and book a couples’ Balinese massage in the afternoon. In the evening, a floating breakfast or candlelight dinner at your villa makes it feel special.
Optional: Mount Batur sunrise trek
If you’re both active, swap Day 3’s morning for a sunrise trek up Mount Batur. It starts in the dark, very early, but watching the sun rise over the volcano together is unforgettable.
Day 4: Move to the Beach
Check out of Ubud and move to Seminyak or Uluwatu. Spend the afternoon at the pool or on the beach, then catch your first Bali sunset with dinner by the sea.
Day 5: Nusa Penida Day Trip
Take a boat from the Bali mainland to Nusa Penida, a short ride that usually departs from Sanur. You’ll see the island’s most famous views: Kelingking Beach, Broken Beach and the Angel’s Billabong rock pool. Roads on the island are bumpy, so a private car and driver makes the day far more comfortable. Carry water and snacks, as facilities at the viewpoints are basic.
Day 6: Uluwatu Temple and the Kecak Dance
Enjoy a lazy morning, then head to Uluwatu Temple in the late afternoon. Perched on a cliff above the Indian Ocean, it’s one of the most romantic spots in Bali. Stay for the Kecak fire dance at sunset, followed by a seafood dinner at Jimbaran Bay.
Day 7: Fly Home
A final breakfast, some last-minute shopping, and time to head to the airport with plenty of memories.
Tips for Indian Couples
- Entry: you’ll need a visa, the tourist levy and an online arrival card. Our Bali visa guide explains all three.
- Food: Ubud and Seminyak both have Indian and vegetarian restaurants, so finding familiar food is easy.
- Best time: Bali’s dry season, roughly April to October, is ideal for beaches and Nusa Penida.
- Transport: a private car and driver is the easiest and most comfortable way for couples to get around.

It depends on your flights, villas and season. Our Bali trip cost guide breaks it down for couples.
Can we add the Gili Islands?
